"From Sea to Shining Sea" AFAF Invitational Art Exhibit
David R. Becker – a prolific artist, illustrator and educator, is well known for his stunning Chicago street scenes and intuitive plein air watercolors. But this exhibit is something wonderfully different.
We at the AAC are proud and honored to premier David R. Becker’s “Armed Forces Remembered” collection of original watercolors: a tribute to the courage, sacrifice and resilience of those who have served. Rather than traditional portraits, David worked from source photos showing every-day military scenes and sacrifices. It’s a beautiful and touching retrospective of quiet military heroism.
This exceptional body of artwork was years in the making. It is dedicated to David Becker’s father, Volkhard Bruno Becker, a U.S. Army veteran who served during the Korean War. His strength, humility, and quiet heroism left a lasting imprint on David’s life and work.
